It is not just multifamily where EV charging stations might make sense. An article in Cornell Real Estate Review makes the case that shopping centers should consider adding them to attract retail customers, citing the consumer “linger factor” of increasing retail sales while waiting for cars to charge. They estimate that the payback period for adding EV stations would be about 30 months.
